The Grenspalenklassieker Zeeland is a unique gravel tour of 100, 160 or 210 km and road rides of 100, 160 km or 200 km, which passes through the historic border region between the Netherlands and Belgium. The route starts in picturesque Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, an area known for its vast polder landscapes, narrow dykes and hidden gravel paths. From the starting point, at bicycle shop Kopwerk in Sas van Gent where you can enjoy a free cup of coffee, you cycle through picturesque villages such as Retranchement, Sluis and Aardenburg. Along the way, you pass the old border posts that once marked the division between the Netherlands and Belgium. These posts are silent witnesses to a turbulent history full of conflicts, smuggling stories and border-crossing trade.
